Happy SAINT GRIT Day to All the Ghouls Who Celebrate

The time has arrived, ghouls. Saint Grit by Kayli Scholz is finally available through Ghoulish Books.

It is Kayli’s debut book and we are stoked beyond belief to have the pleasure of publishing it.

Here is the front cover, illustrated by the wonderful Alejandra Oviedo:

Please note: the above illustration is our Censored Cover. Here is our Uncensored Cover, which is available exclusively through our webstore and physical bookshop (you won’t find it elsewhere online).

Saint Grit also features six original interior illustrations from Betty Rocksteady. Here is one of them now:

Here’s what Daniel Kraus, author of WHALEFALL, had to say about SAINT GRIT:

“This is the real stuff I’m always chasing, every chapter a warning, every page a curse, entirely irresistible to read even as you know reading it will damn you forever.”

And here’s the official “back cover” synopsis to give you more of an idea of what this novella is about:

One brooding summer, Nadine Boone pricks herself on a poisonous manchineel tree in the Florida backcountry. Upon self-orgasm, Nadine conjures a witch that she calls Saint Grit. Pitched as Gummo meets The Craft, Saint Grit grows inside of Nadine over three decades, wreaking repulsive havoc on a suspicious cast of characters in a small town known as Sugar Bends.

To celebrate the book’s release, Kayli and I had an in-depth conversation about all things Saint Grit. Watch it HERE.

Or, if you’d prefer to listen to the audio-only podcast version, here ya go:

Ghouls can order Saint Grit directly from our webstore, or anywhere else books are typically sold.
