Very cool place! Great owner. Great books. They are super nice and knowledgeable. It’s very family friendly here. Just fair warning, The owner likes to dress like his dog. So, you may see him dressed in a dog suit from time to time,

Some pretty professional ghouls in this joint. If you don't have the pleasure of stopping in physically they have a great online store!

The staff are helpful and welcoming. Max, the owner is awesome (he is a horror author too)!! They have horror books that you won't find in other retail bookstores and a few signed copies. They carry spooky books for YA, middle, and kids too. This is my favorite bookstore!! 🤓🖤

QUEEN GHOUL

Lori Michelle Booth is the CFO and layout guru of Ghoulish Books. She formats books for several indie horror publishers and a multitude of other freelancers. In the evening, she is Ms. Lori, dance teacher extraordinaire, teaching young minds all over the San Antonio area the joys of shuffle ball change and pas de bouree.

PUBLICITY GHOUL

Mindy Rose unfortunately lives in South Dakota where she works as a bookseller and a helpline worker. She has had a lifelong obsession with all things horror, and in her free time she can be found reading, collecting medical antiques and bits of human corpses, and hurting her own feelings by thinking too hard about how much she loves her dog.

COPY EDITOR

Jenna Malcolm is an editor by day and a craft enthusiast by night. She’s worked on magazines, technical documents, and fiction, with horror and surrealism being some of her favourite genres. She lives in Alberta, Canada.

COPY EDITOR

Emily McCorkle is an editor, tutor, blade shearer, and recovering English teacher. She has worked with magazines, dissertations, fiction, and horrifying student essays. When not immersed in words or thoughts, she’s knee deep in critters, crafts, crystals, and chaos on The Island of Misfits and Noise in Texas.

ART GHOUL

Betty Rocksteady is the artist behind all appearances of the The Ghoul, including the Ghoulish Tales cover art. Inspired by rubber hose cartoons and underground comix, her illustrations can be found in Cody Goodfellow’s The Flying None and Kayli Scholz’s Saint Grit. She’s also illustrated her own work multiple times, including her cosmic sex horror novella The Writhing Skies and novella/graphic novel hybrid Soft Places, all available from Ghoulish Books. Find out more at www.BettyRocksteady.com.

GHOULISH GRUNT

Miguel Myers is the host of the My Horror Confessional, Decayed Tapes (with Max Booth III) and Sunday School Sessions (Patreon Exclusive) podcasts. Every last Saturday of the month you can catch him hosting Saturday Night Spookies, a free mystery horror movie at Ghoulish Books. He was born in Chicago and currently resides in the hellhole that is Texas.

INTERN

Frank is an intern for Ghoulish Books. He spends his days chasing balls, wearing sweaters, and eating used tissues. When nobody is paying him any attention, he’s liable to do a “trust fall” to see who really loves him. His favorite novel is The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King.

INTERN

Conan O’Brien is an intern for Ghoulish Books. He thrives on chaos—at least, until he is sleepy, then he would prefer to be cradled like a little baby. His personal hero is Tony Soprano.
