Very cool place! Great owner. Great books. They are super nice and knowledgeable. It’s very family friendly here. Just fair warning, The owner likes to dress like his dog. So, you may see him dressed in a dog suit from time to time,

POCKETKNIFE KITTY – The Latest Ghoulish Books Novella is OUT RIGHT NOW!

Hello, ghouls! I return to this spooky blog to once again inform you that a new Ghoulish Books publication has been unleashed upon the world. Shannon Riley’s debut book, a novella titled Pocketknife Kitty, is available now wherever spooky literature is sold.

We, of course, encourage purchases directly from our GHOULISH webstore, or at our physical retail shop in Selma, TX, but it’s also available anywhere else, too. Like Bookshop.org, Indiebound, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon, to name a few.

Here is a little bit about Pocketknife Kitty, which we’ve been pitching as It Follows meets Promising Young Woman…

Jamie is a thirty-year-old banker wedged between grief and newfound freedom. Through a domino cascade beyond her control, she winds up stuck in her suffocating hometown. The monotony is broken swiftly when, following a night of spite-fueled impulse, Jamie soon begins to undergo a rapid and gruesome transformation. She finds herself teetering on the edge of her own sanity as she pieces together if rescue will ever come for her. And if not, what is she going to do about it?

Exploring themes of sexual empowerment, revenge, and loneliness, POCKETKNIFE KITTY asks the reader to explore exactly how far they’d go to save their own skin.

To read an exclusive excerpt, and hear a little bit about why Shannon wrote this book, and what it means to her, head on over to Paste Magazine.

We hope you have a fun, disgusting time with this novella. We’re really proud of what Shannon has created here, and we are so excited to finally share it with our readers. Once again, you can order a copy directly through our webstore. Paperback orders will also come with signed stickers from Shannon while supplies last!
